Our Steel Finishing Capabilities

Lumsden Grinding

Our Lumsden grinding services can process up to 100" across corners, delivering parts to a flatness tolerance of ±0.25mm. It's a quicker alternative to conventional milling, making it perfect for finishing mild steel to a consistent thickness and smooth surface. We offer both in-house and subcontract options to suit your needs.

Shotblasting

Shot blasting removes rust, scale and surface imperfections using high-speed steel shot. This process prepares parts for coating, painting or welding and achieves a surface standard of SA 2.5 on components up to 1500mm in diameter.

Flattening

Using our in-house 50-tonne C-frame press, we provide flattening to correct distortions that can occur during cutting. With a tolerance of ±2mm per metre, we ensure parts are flat and consistent, which is essential for structural steelwork and assembly.

Deburring

After cutting, sharp edges and dross can affect usability. Our deburring service removes these imperfections to leave clean, safe and easy-to-handle profiles. This is especially useful for components going straight to fabrication or assembly.
